U13 Girls Cup

Each season the EFL organises two cup competitions for junior footballers from schools across the country, with the finals being played in the build-up to some of the biggest matches of the domestic season.

The EFL Girls Cup is one of those competitions. The Girls Cup comprises of a six-a-side competition for U13 girls that culminates in a grand final prior to the Checkatrade Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium in April.

We understand that the glory of appearing before a National Final is great for everyone involved. However, at every stage, there are some great prizes for schools to win, such as certificates, pennants, medals and trophies, to allow participants to remember their achievement of taking part in one of the country’s largest national football competitions.

How do we get to the Final?

The road to the Kids and Girls Cup Finals starts at the beginning of September. Each Football League club across the country will be organising a competition for all their local schools wishing to take part. The winners of each club’s local Kids and Girls Cup competitions will then go on to represent that club in area and regional phases of the competition, where they will face schools representing other Football League clubs. If successful in the regional stages your school could eventually represent your local Football League club in the Football League Kids Cup or Girls Cup and play at Wembley Stadium. All the way through the competition there are some great prizes to be won for you and your school.

How much does it cost to take part?

There are no entry fees. We believe that cost should not be a barrier to creating the next generation of football stars and supporters. Furthermore, for schools winning through to the regional finals and beyond, The Football League will help with expenses to ensure that cost does not prevent them competing on a National Level. The League also provides accommodation for the squad, evening meal and travel expenses for any school reaching a final at Wembley.
