Language For Learning & Fitness
Our Language for Learning & Fitness programme is a 90 minute Language programme run in schools during lesson time to encourage children to learn a new language using Yeovil Town Football Club or football related resources.
The programme consists of two halves like a real football match. During the first half, pupils develop their language skills working with specially designed YTFC themed work books, interactive activities and videos. For the second half, the pupils move to the football pitch and hone their skills not only on and off the ball, but using the vocabulary & phrases they have learnt in the classroom in a series of coaching activities.
We are currently providing tuition in Polish thanks to funding from the National League Trust.

About the National League Trust.
The National League Trust is a partnership between the National League, Premier League and the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA). The Premier League and PFA have committed to support the Trust until 2022.
They will each contribute to a donation of £1.2m a year over this period. This allows the National League Trust to help National League member clubs develop their community programmes.
“There is a growing Polish community in Somerset and the more we can do to help integrate all parts of our community together the better.
“The Trust is using the power of football to bring about real change and by learning some of the Polish language, the young people taking part in Soccerlinguistics will get a better understanding of the Polish culture and develop their language and football skills.
“I am thoroughly supportive of this programme and look forward to seeing many young people getting involved in its work.”
